Business Development Manager – Ireland (Dublin or surrounding area)

The successful candidate will receive a ‘new starter’ payment of £375.00 after 6 continuous months of employment and a further £375.00 after 12 continuous months (payment is subject to the terms and conditions of the scheme).

A vacancy has arisen for a Business Development Manager for our markets in Ireland. This position will be on a full time, permanent basis.

The role

To support our future plans, CMP require a Business Development Manager in Ireland to focus on driving new business and supporting existing relationships. Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager (UK & Ireland) the Business Development Manager will develop client, engineering and contractor relationships to secure brand specification and secure business to meet or exceed targets set by the company.

The Business Development Manager will proactively increase brand awareness throughout the target area, and work to promote CMP products range as market leader.

To be successful in this role you will be motivated by winning purchase orders and will gain satisfaction from winning as a team.

Duties will include

  • To identify at the earliest point capable of influence, projects and opportunities within the territory. On such projects, to identify the decision makers in relation to the specification, purchase and installation of products within the CMP product range with a view to growing the business and achieve agreed targets. Targeted upon datacentre and pharmaceutical specification creation.
  • To build and nurture an ongoing pipeline of firm project opportunities within customer relationship management (CRM) to track progress
  • To target new original equipment manufacturers (OEM’s) and other regular end users in the specified territory, to estimate potential and to be actively involved in developing a sales strategy that will maximise each given situation presented
  • To effectively engage and manage business relationships with key contractors within Ireland
  • To conduct market research and analysis of competitor activity to ensure a sound understanding of distribution and market segments within the territory
  • To proactively develop and maintain relationships with specific distributors to enable effective targeting of end users, establish business potential, set objectives and formulate a course of action to achieve these objectives
  • To provide feedback on competitor activity, in particular pricing levels, market trends and contribute towards the development of sales budget and marketing plans
  • Provide regular updates highlighting calls made, personnel visited and all relevant points of discussion
  • To attend exhibitions and/or other promotional events and to support and/or participate as appropriate within product and application training programmes for customers and colleagues
  • To provide product/technical support and undertake practical demonstrations of the CMP product range, ensuring effective promotion of CMP products
  • To ensure CMP customers receive a world class service
  • To measure customer performance and develop appropriate strategies to implement improvements
  • To respond to customer complaints with effective resolution to ensure customer’s satisfaction is maintained as well as identifying solutions to ensure no future repetition
  • To develop and maintain an appropriate level of product and application knowledge commensurate with a professional level of performance and conduct
  • To follow up on all outstanding quotations to ensure completion in a timely manner
  • To ensure effective control of documentation
  • To work in a safe manner; driving positive behaviour and leading by example with regard to the company’s health, safety and environmental policies

The person

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years sales experience within a high volume, quality focused business. They will ideally have knowledge and understanding of the electrical contracting market and have experience of working with technical products. Knowledge and experience of the datacentre market would be a considerable advantage.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate a record of key achievements in the sales environment as well having the ability to develop and maintain long term relationships with new and existing customers in a fast moving business.

The candidate will be home based and be responsible for developing business throughout Ireland, therefore with regular travel, you must be flexible, focused, self-motivated and self-disciplined. The candidate will be based in Dublin or within the surrounding area.

Working hours are 35 per week.
