The role

An exciting opportunity has arisen at our site on the Quorum Business Park in Benton for a Business Systems Developer to join our growing business. This position will be on a full time, permanent basis.

The Business Systems Developer will join our team of developers working with new technologies and new business projects.

Duties will include

  • To work directly with internal stakeholders to ensure a full understanding of business processes and requirements
  • To work with senior members of the team to develop solutions to business needs using the IFS Enterprise Resource Planning system
  • To develop reports, program units and analytics and produce relevant documentation required to support this
  • To  support and maintain existing business systems
  • To undertake training to enhance personal skills and development
  • To carry out any other duties not listed above as may reasonably be expected
  • To work in a safe manner; driving positive behaviour and leading by example with regard to the company’s health, safety and environmental policies
  • To carry out any other duties not listed above as may reasonably be expected

The person

This role will be particularly suitable for developers with a basic knowledge of querying databases using PL\SQL or T-SQL.  Experience using Oracle functions and procedures would also be an advantage.

Web development experience would be desirable, in particular using PHP and JavaScript.

Data mining, ETL and analytics experience is desirable but not essential.  Knowledge of reporting and data analysis tools such as Crystal Reports and SSRS would advantageous.

The successful candidate will have the ability to work under pressure within time constraints demonstration a confident, thorough and motivated approach. Working independently or as part of a team, they will have a strong aptitude for learning and be able to identify and implement potential process improvements. They will have the ability to complete designated tasks under minimal supervision. They will be educated to degree level in a relevant subject or equivalent.

A full UK driving licence is desirable.

Working hours are 35 per week.

Employment is subject to a Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check.
