Maintenance Electrician

We are currently recruiting a Maintenance Electrician on a full time permanent basis.

 What we offer:

An hourly rate including shift allowance of £17.64, rising to £18.09 in June 2022.

 Working hours are an average of 37.5 hours per week on a shift rotation which involves 10 x 12 hour shifts over a 21 day cycle with 11 days off.

The successful candidate will receive a ‘new starter’ payment of £375.00 after 6 continuous months of employment and a further £375.00 after 12 continuous months (payment is subject to the terms and conditions of the scheme).

The role

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager the Maintenance Electrician will be required to undertake planned, preventive and reactive maintenance activities on equipment, tools and facilities across the whole site.

Duties will include

  • To ensure safe working practices are followed at all times
  • To complete planned preventive maintenance of equipment, tools and facilities
  • To continue to develop the planned preventative maintenance procedures emphasising on breakdown prevention
  • To install and/or modify equipment as required
  • To conduct a root cause analysis of breakdowns and implement effective reoccurrence prevention plans using resource available
  • To work as part of the maintenance team and demonstrate good communication skills in interfacing with other departments, suppliers, contractors and manufacturers as required
  • To operating access platforms including scissor lifts and cherry pickers
  • To use a PC for accessing information, emails and completing reports
  • To train and mentor apprentices
  • To ensure that you work in a safe manner and comply with the company’s Health, Safety and Environmental Policy
  • To carry out any other duties not listed above as may reasonably be expected

The person

The successful candidate must be a time served electrician and have experience of working in a high volume manufacturing environment. A 17th or 18th Edition qualification is preferred but not essential.

Applicants will possess excellent communication skills and have an electrical background with a good working knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs).

They must also be organised, be self-motivated and have a hands on approach to problem solving with the ability to work alone as well as part of a team.
