British Engines is a leading engineering group with a long heritage in the North East of England since 1922.

Employing approximately 1,200 people, our eight businesses design, manufacture, assemble, test and service leading products and components for a wide range of industries including the renewables, digital, defence, power, nuclear, aerospace, robotics, oil and gas, chemical, marine, construction and agriculture sectors.

The BEL Engineered Solutions’ marketing department is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Marketing Coordinator to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to take charge of their own projects and have an active role in planning a wider marketing strategy.

 

What you’ll be doing

 

  • Create marketing campaigns to support the businesses’ goals and objectives
  • Produce marketing literature using Adobe design software and manage the printing process
  • Collaborate with the sales teams to generate marketing leads
  • Develop content based on company news and hot topics in the sector
  • Gather PR stories, write press releases and send to the media
  • Maintain the company website using WordPress and optimise content for search engines
  • Develop and create content for social media
  • Work with digital agencies to optimise Google and Bing pay-per-click campaigns
  • Work with suppliers in the design, print, photography, digital and translation sectors
  • Manage internal events and trade show exhibitions
  • Implement internal communication strategies and develop internal newsletters
  • Develop and maintain brand guidelines and standards
  • Conduct market sector research 

 

The role requires various skills such as writing, designing, organising events/exhibitions, maintaining websites and experience in digital elements including social media and Google PPC.

 

Working with the traditional marketing mix and digital channels, the role provides an opportunity to develop and create strategic, integrated marketing campaigns. BEL Engineered Solutions, a division of the British Engines Group, provides marketing support to leading engineering companies, Michell Bearings, BEL Valves, Rotary Power, BEL Engineering and Tyne Pressure Testing, as well support to group central services and Stadium Export Services.

 

This is a flexible role with the option of hybrid working for up to two days per week following the successful completion of your probationary period.  The role also has access to a ‘Nine Day Fortnight’ working pattern, meaning you can condense your hours over nine days and be off every other Friday. (On the Friday’s that you are in, you’ll finish at 1:30pm!)

 

 Who we’re looking for

 

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience, as well as a degree level qualification in marketing or a similar discipline. It would be advantageous if the successful candidate holds a CIM qualification.

 

We are looking for someone who is able to work independently with direction from the Head of Marketing, has great organisation skills and is creative in their design skills. This role requires a proactive and enthusiastic attitude, with the confidence and adaptability to work with and support the sales department. The ideal candidate will have experience working within an industrial sector and/or B2B marketing.

 

The person will have excellent writing skills and a high level of attention to detail, as well as be able to confidently use Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Microsoft Office. In addition, the candidate will also have a working knowledge of Google Adwords and Analytics.

 

The marketing department at British Engines is a busy, dynamic and fast paced environment. We work for seven businesses across the group with many projects at any one time, so good time management skills are essential. We are looking for a true team player to contribute to the creative processes of the team, as well as someone who is able to work confidently on their own initiative.

 

A full UK driving licence is essential and you must have your own vehicle.
