A vacancy has arisen for a Technical Administrator to work with the operations team based at St Peters, Newcastle.

The role

A vacancy has arisen within a Technical Administrator to join the Assembly and Test team at BEL Valves. This is a staff position reporting directly to the Quality Assurance Lead.

Duties will include

  • To co-ordinate all quality assurance administrative activities relating to valve test records, inspection release notes, NDT reports and change request notes.
  • To support the quality control function in creating and documenting non-conformance reports.
  • To administer valve test documentation for the quality engineers.
  • To administer the departmental performance indicators (PI’s/DMR’s) as part of continuous improvement drive.
  • To assist manufacturing engineers with the compilation of documentation packages for submission to customers and also to assist in planning jobs.
  • To routinely use various continuous improvement techniques to improve team performance.
  • To ensure compliance to customer and BEL Valves requirements and liaise with relevant personnel.
  • To purchase office equipment and consumables and carry out general administrative tasks as required.
  • To comply with the company’s Health, Safety and Environmental Policy.

The person

This role will demand a highly organised and efficient individual who will be able to co-ordinate their task list and prioritise accordingly.

Good communication skills are essential, along with the ability to demonstrate a positive, innovative and motivated approach to work, combined with the ability to work under pressure and within time constraints. Problem solving skills are also a must, with knowledge of production processes and systems being advantageous. Experience working in an operations or engineering administration role would be beneficial, bus is not essential.
