What is a Business Apprenticeship?

Are you looking for a role that will provide you with plenty of opportunities for the future? Do you want to learn transferable business skills and work as part of a global engineering group? A business apprenticeship could be for you.

What is a business apprenticeship?

A British Engines business apprenticeship focuses on developing valuable transferable business skills. Such as, the ability to negotiate and problem solve, improve value for money and assist in the management of company projects.

As an integrated part of the team, business apprentices benefit from the support and guidance of their colleagues and a mentor.

A business apprentice builds relationships with key people within the organisation, develops the ability to confidently liaise and negotiate with suppliers, as well as internal and external stakeholders.

Working one-to-one with a tutor from our training partner TDR, also based in Newcastle, business apprentices work towards an NVQ in Business and Administration.

Applicants should have:

  • GCSE grades A-C in Mathematics and English
  • Experience of working to a high level of accuracy
  • Experience using the Microsoft package
  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • Keen attention to detail
