The British Engines Community Fund provides funding to local charities, youth and community groups that are close to our employees’ hearts; which require support in order to keep up their good work.
The Community Fund was established in 2012 as a way to give back and support the vital work carried out within our communities, some of which we have been part of for almost 100 years.
We are committed to helping as many different organisations as possible. Over the years, the fund has supported a variety of groups, such as:
• Heel and Toe: Awarded funding to purchase a sensory system for the hydrotherapy suite in the charity’s Therapy Centre
• St Peter’s Neighbourhood Association: Awarded funding to make neighbourhood improvements
• Tyne Amateur Rowing Club: Awarded funding for sculling blades
• Durham Army Cadet Force, Band and Bugles: Awarded funding for banners
Each year a decision making committee is assembled, consisting of representatives from across the British Engines Group, in order to fairly award funding.
Please note that applications for the Community Fund are now closed, and we anticipate that they will reopen in summer 2019. Awards are typically made in the following October.
