  • Do the Apprenticeships lead to a professional qualification?

Yes, our apprenticeships offer a recognised qualification.

  • What amount of time will they spend at college?

Full time for the first 22 weeks, then one day a week thereafter.

  • Will they get paid from day one?

Yes, even if their scheme involves a lot of college work in the first year, they’ll be a British Engines employee from day one.

  • What safety training will they have?

We make sure that all our employees get the relevant safety training before they start work. Apprentices will also always be working with experienced people until we’re confident they can work on their own.

That really is up to the apprentice. With a recognised qualification under their belt, they have the opportunity to develop their career in many different areas of our business. They may also be able to choose to further their studies, for example, with a Degree.

  • What hours will they be working?

37 hours per week – Monday – Friday.

  • What company benefits do they qualify for?

As a British Engines employee, they’ll qualify for the same company benefits as every other employee. To view the company benefits click here.
